Buckley Ward Cardiograph

Donations bought an ECG for Epsom's Buckley Ward
Buckley Ward

With grateful thanks to all the staff on Buckley Ward for their dedicated care and compassion.

Buckley Ward in Epsom Hospital specialises in Gastroenterology and general medicine.

As a thank you for the great care a patient received, they decided to make a generous donation to the Buckley Ward. The team then decided it would be best spent on purchasing a brand new Electrocardiogram, otherwise known as an ECG machine.

An ECG is a simple test that can be used to check your heart’s rhythm and electrical activity. Sensors are attached to the skin and used to detect the electrical signals produced by your heart each time it beats. These signals are recorded by a machine and are looked at by a doctor to see if they’re unusual.

The Buckley Ward’s new ECG is the latest state-of-the-art model which means it generates these vital reports more quickly and accurately. Plus, as it’s dedicated to the ward, it’s always on hand. This means both the Buckley Ward team and their patients can spend less time waiting for these vital results.

Also donated was a beautiful painting of a floral landscape which adds a spring-like feel to the ward whatever the weather.
