A gift in your will
Leave a gift in your will to support the future of Epsom and St Helier hospitals, and the services we provide.
Gifts from generous supporters helps the Trust to continue their work and can enable them to transform and modernise care for local patients in years to come, from funding the latest medical equipment to creating more comfortable and welcoming hospital environments for patients, young and old.
We know that leaving a gift in a will is a very personal matter. We are very grateful if you are giving it consideration as it is such a big-hearted gesture. We appreciate that this also involves balancing provision for loved ones at the same time.
Below is some key information for you to think about. However, it can be a complex area and we would highly recommend using a qualified professional. This makes sure your wishes are clear and the will is legally sound. You can find a solicitor in your area by visiting The Law Society website.
There are three main ways of making a donation through your will.
This is a gift of a certain amount of money.
A share in or percentage of what’s left of the value of your estate after family and friends have been taken care of. The advantage of this type of gift is that its value tends to keep up with inflation, unlike cash amounts.
A ‘specific’ item such as jewellery or a piece of art.
If you already have a will and simply wish to add a gift to Epsom and St Helier Hospitals Charity, a solicitor can easily amend it for you by writing a codicil to file alongside your existing will. Alternatively, you can write a new will. Once a new will is written, it voids your previous wills.
If you are planning to leave a gift in your will, please let us know as we would like to be able to say thank you for the wonderful gesture. Of course, we respect your privacy and anything you share with us will be kept confidential.
