“It feels like the right way to say thank you to the teams who’ve been there for me and my family.”
When it comes to stepping outside your comfort zone, Jamie is quite literally taking the leap.
Taking part in the upcoming Abseil St Helier in support of Epsom and St Helier Hospitals Charity, Jamie is raising funds for the services which have played a significant role in both his personal and family life.
“I’ve never done anything like this before, so there’s definitely nerves, but that’s exactly why I wanted to do it. It feels like the right way to say thank you to the teams who’ve been there for me and my family.”
Jamie is currently being treated at St Helier Hospital for kidney disease (membranous nephropathy) by our Renal teams and has experienced first-hand the care and support they provide.
Alongside this, his wife has also received care from the obstetrics and gynaecology teams throughout their pregnancies, the birth of their son, and ongoing support through the recurrent miscarriage clinic.
His connection also extends beyond personal experience, as through his work with Grosvenor Contracts and Synergy LMS, he has supported both sites for over nine years.
“That’s given me a unique perspective in which I have seen the dedication of the teams working across Epsom and St Helier. It’s something I am proud to be connected too.”

“I know how vital these services are – not just the treatment, but the ongoing support for patients. I really want to give something back.”
If you want to do the same, there are still some remaining places in this years event and you can sign up today. For more information visit https://www.esthcharity.org.uk/abseil-st-helier-2026/
